Dr. Park was an Assistant Professor at a medical school for two years and also served in the R.O.K. Army reaching the rank of Major. He also has been active in learning new techniques from well-known surgeons throughout many years of his practice. As an M.D. and Ph.D., Dr. Park has written and published 30 scientific articles for his studies, has written board examination questionnaires and has had his material used for a home study course for plastic surgeons. Dr. Park has been invited to speak at over 60 Plastic and Cosmetic Surgical Meetings, both nationally and internationally. He has also been invited to host an instructional lecture series for the Practicing Cosmetic Plastic Surgeons at the National Cosmetic Surgery Meetings. Dr. Park has traveled to Canada, Brazil, Italy, Spain, France, Korea, Philippines, etc. to present his techniques. Along with George Fisher of Italy, the inventor of liposuction surgery, Dr. Park helped to organize the 3rd World Congress on Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery in Rome, Italy in 1992. He has been invited to speak at the International Congress of Aesthetic Surgery in Paris, sponsored by the French Society of esthetic Surgery every year since 1994. Dr. Park also teaches medical students, interns and residents, accepts visitation by Plastic Surgeons from various parts of the country and foreign nations. As a fellowship director, Dr. Park teaches a fellow each year under his tutorage. Dr. Park has been interviewed by Channel 2, a Chicago TV station, and has been invited as a guest on WJOB radio and two ethnic radio stations in the Chicagoland area over 30 times. Since 1996, Dr. Park has been conducting television talk shows on plastic surgery with anchorperson Ms. J. Swike, at Channel 3, TCI. He has also been featured in newspapers such as Hammond Times, Post Tribune, Stars, three Korean ethnic newspapers in Chicago, The Skin and Allergy News, and The Cosmetic Surgery Times, a national specialty newspaper for Plastic and Cosmetic surgeons. Today Dr. Park is just as diligent with innovating new techniques and polishing his old skills as he was 30 years ago as a young surgeon in training. Although an injury has kept him from his long-loved sport of skiing, he enjoys tennis, sailing, and golf. He is married to his wife of 30 years, Young, and is the father of three sons; Won, Min and Kyu. Min is a resident physician of neurosurgery at UC, San Diego. Kyu is a medical student at Indiana University Medical School. |
